Formed in Wisdom and Love
5/24/26-8/15/26

OVERVIEW
If Acts shows how the Church is born in power, Proverbs teaches how the Church grows in wisdom.

The Spirit not only sends, He shapes.

The people of God are not formed by inspiration alone, but by practice, discernment, and love lived out in ordinary days.  In Proverbs and the New Testament letters, we learn that wisdom is not merely knowledge.

Wisdom is skill in living under God’s loving rule - at work, at home, in speech, desire, conflict, labor, planning, generosity and relationships.

Each week invites us to see that the fear of the Lord is not terror, but tenderness - a posture of reverence that opens the heart to grace.  To Be the Church — Formed in Wisdom and Love is to live a life that is steady, rooted, joyful, and true - a life that reveals Christ not only in the extraordinary, but in the daily and the quiet.

Scripture Memory
May 24 - July 4, 2026: Proverbs 2:1–5 (ESV)
[1] My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
[2] making your ear attentive to wisdom
  and inclining your heart to understanding;
[3] yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
[4] if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
[5] then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.

July 5 - August 15, 2026: Proverbs 3:5–8 (ESV)
[5] Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
[6] In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
[7] Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
[8] It will be healing to your flesh
  and refreshment to your bones.

Spiritual Movement
Reverence → Trust - The fear of the Lord opens the heart to wisdom.
Trust → Formation - Wisdom takes shape through daily practices of faithfulness.
Formation → Love - Wisdom expressed becomes love embodied.
Love → Witness - A Church shaped by wisdom becomes a Church compelling to the world.

Core Truth
To Be the Church - Formed in Wisdom and Love is to become a people whose lives are filled with steady faithfulness, humble strength, guarded words, generous hearts and love that does not fade.

Wisdom is not learned in a moment - it is formed through daily obedience to the God who loves us.

Reflection Prompt for the Whole Arc
At the close of Week 32, pause and look back:
      • Where has the fear of the Lord deepened in you?
      • Where has God taught you to trust Him rather than yourself?
      • How has wisdom taken shape in your habits, speech, work, or relationships?
      • What one practice of wisdom is God inviting you to continue?

Write a brief prayer beginning with:
“Lord, teach me to walk in Your wisdom and to love in Your way…”

Let this become your guiding prayer as we move toward the next season of mission.
