Why We Give
Worship Through Generosity
Jesus always pursues our hearts. More than simply correcting our behavior, He is after our hearts because as He says, “out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45) and “where your treasure is, there our heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). The only true treasure is in Heaven and available to all who put their trust in Jesus. So as Jesus followers, giving our resources for the sake of the advancement of the Gospel and Kingdom of God is a part of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
At Redemption Hill, we are all about the glory of God and the joy of His people. We pursue our own joy because we believe that brings great glory to God! Giving is a means of letting go of lesser joys for greater ones. This by no means makes us right with God or earns His love or favor, but does give us more of Him.
