 [5] then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

1 | Theme Reflection - “Work Diligently in Grace”
Wisdom teaches us how to work and why we work.
Proverbs warns against the slothfulness of the sluggard and the hurried self-reliance of the proud. True diligence is consistency under the care of God.

The ant labors in order. Creation speaks: work is part of how we bear the image of God.

Colossians echoes the same call. We work in Christ - not to earn identity, but because identity is already given. Work becomes worship when done in love, patience and peace. Our labor has dignity because Jesus is Lord over both the quiet task and the public calling.

To Be the Church - Work Diligently in Grace is to receive work as a gift, to perform it with integrity and joy, and to rest knowing Christ holds all things together

3 | Practice of the Week - The "Work as Worship" Pause
Once each day this week, before you begin your work (at home, school, office or in quiet duties), pause for ten seconds and pray:

“Lord, this work belongs to You.
Make it steady, honest and joyful for your glory and the good of others.”
This simple interruption forms a habit:
Work begins with God, not with us.

4 | Doctrinal Focus - The Lordship of Christ
Christ is Lord over all, including our work.
There is no divide between sacred and ordinary tasks.
Whether we sweep floors, teach children or lead meetings, we serve the same King.

Because Christ is our mediator:

      • We do not work to prove worth
      • We do not labor to justify ourselves
      • We rest knowing our value is secure in Him

Work becomes an opportunity for worship.

5 | Missional Focus - Quiet Faithfulness as Worship
The world sees work as self-promotion or self-preservation.
The Church sees work as self-giving love.

This week:
      • Do your tasks with kindness
      • Keep your word
      • Refuse grumbling
      • Seek the good of others through your effort

Pray: “Lord, make my work a quiet light in the world."

    Lord of every task and every hour,
    Teach us to work unto you.
    Make our labor steady and our hearts humble.
    Let our work reflect Your good and gracious character. In all things, hold us by Your grace.
