BE THE CHURCH - Scripture Memory
MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE TOGETHER - A SHARED RHYTHM OF FORMATION
Throughout 2026, we will memorize Scripture together as a church - not as a performance, but as a practice of formation.
We will linger with twelve carefully chosen passages, each aligned with a major Formation Theme of the year. These verses are not meant to be rushed - words to return to in prayer, repetition, conversation and daily life.
Scripture memorization is one of the Church’s oldest practices. Long before printed Bibles were common, God’s people carried His Word in their hearts. Even now, memorized Scripture becomes a steady companion - available in moments of fear, temptation, joy, weariness or worship.
This year, we invite you to:
You are not expected to memorize perfectly.
You are invited to stay present.

This year, we invite you to:
- Read these verses slowly and often
- Speak them aloud in prayer
- Practice them with your children
- Let them shape your imagination and desires
- Return to them across multiple weeks
You are invited to stay present.
As we move through the year together, may the Word of Christ dwell in us richly - forming us into a people marked by repentance, wisdom, love, mission, worship and hope.
