CREATED AND CALLED
1/4/26-2/14/26

Overview
The story of God’s people begins not with achievement but with identity.
We are created by grace, called by grace and destined for glory.
Across Genesis and Acts, the first families and the first Church discover what it means to live within God’s design - to follow when called, to trust in uncertainty and to forgive when wronged.

Each week invites the church to recover its truest name: beloved, chose and sent.

Scripture Memory
Weeks 1 - 3: 1 Peter 1:3–5
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4] to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
[5] who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Weeks 4 - 6: 1 Corinthians 1:26–29
[26] For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
[27] But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;
[28] God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
[29] so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

Spiritual Movement
Creation → Calling – God forms a people who bear His image and His Spirit.
Faith → Formation – He shapes identity through obedience, exile and grace.
Reconciliation → Mission – Those transformed by mercy are sent to preach reconciliation.
Promise → Perseverance – God’s plan carries His people through suffering toward completion.

Core Truth
To Be the Church is to live as those who belong - created by God’s word, changed by His grace and sent for His glory.

Reflection Prompt for the Whole Arc
At the close of Week 6, pause to look back over the story so far:
      • Where has God reminded you of who you are?
      • How has His grace redirected your path or deepened your trust?
      • Where might He be sending you next - not as a worker earning favor, but as a beloved child proclaiming good news?

Write one short paragraph or prayer beginning with:
“Lord, I am Yours because You called me…”

Let this become your personal creed of belonging before moving into Lent.
