Week of 5/31/26: Trust the Path of Wisdom
Weekly Theme: Be the Church - Trust the Path of Wisdom
Sermon Text: Proverbs 3
Primary Reading: Proverbs 3-4
Secondary Reading: Ephesians 1-6
Memory Verses (Through July 4th): Proverbs 2:1–5
[1] My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
[2] making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
[3] yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
[4] if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,
[5] then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
Wisdom is not simply knowing what is right; it is trusting Who is right.
In Proverbs 3, Solomon calls his son - and the Church - to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Trust is the act of surrendering control of one’s life while walking forward in obedience to God’s Word.

3 | Practice of the Week - The Path Prayer
Each morning this week, begin your day by praying this simple refrain while standing or walking:
“Lord help me trust you with with my life -
not only my destination, but each step along the way.”
Wisdom grows where trust walks.
4 | Doctrinal Focus - Providence and the Will of God
The wisdom of Proverbs flows from the sovereignty of God.
Divine providence means that God not only rules over every event, but is guiding history and human life toward His desired and good end.
To trust God’s path is to rest in His perfect wisdom, even when life seems ambiguous.
Providence is not fate; it is Fatherly care — a wise plan shaped by love to the glory of God.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119 : 105)
5 | Missional Focus - Trust in Action
Faith that trusts must eventually move.
This week, practice visible trust:
invite someone into your life or to church who needs encouragement, share your story of God’s faithfulness, or take one small step in obedience.
When the Church walks in trust, the world sees what confidence in God looks like.
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:17 ESV

Father of Wisdom,
You see what we cannot.
Teach us to trust You when we do have all the details.
Jesus, walk beside us as we follow Your path.
Spirit, guide our steps and steady our hearts.
Amen.
